RASCO offers a comprehensive choice of plow/spreader combinations to suit any operational requirement. This article focuses on the plowing elements of the latest combination unit – RASCO’s widest ploughing truck yet. This unit features a 33 ton chassis, RASCO ‘Solid X’ 8.0 spreader, RASCO ‘KALNIK XL’ front plough and RASCO ‘BSP’ 4.5 side plough. The combination can plough 7 metres of road with one truck.
RASCO’s range of professional snow plows includes plows for all types of vehicles, ranging from trucks and multi-purpose vehicles to tractors, construction machines and small utility vehicles. The construction of plows is adjusted to different kinds of surfaces to be cleared and to the height of snow.
KALNIK XL Plow
KALNIK XL is a robust plow intended for the maintenance of wide and open roads. It is designed for clearing deep snow and can be adjusted to the requirements of different plowing widths. Its variable dimensions, implemented through opening and closing the leftmost wing, enable simple changing of plow width from 4 to 5 metres and ploughing with both widths. This enables the user to adjust to different profiles of motorways and access roads.
For maximum efficiency of clearing snow on motorways, KALNIK XL should be used in combination with the BSP side plow in an echelon ploughing configuration.
KALNIK XL is intended for plowing at high speeds and has a range of installed safety elements that do not affect snow clearing efficiency. An installed mechanism of axial tilt, mutually independent plow wings and the available range of scrapers enable efficient clearing of snow. The floating position, multi-segmented design, spring connections of the plows wings and beam and supporting elements in the form of wheels and slide pads contribute to the safe operation of the plow.
The BSP side snow plow is intended for fast and efficient removal of snow from motorways. A vehicle with a built in front and side plow accomplishes a larger total width of clearing snow, which increases the efficiency during each passage. The plow is mounted on the right side of the vehicle by attachment to the side mounting plate. The attachment and the plow are designed in such a way to transfer load when clearing snow to the vehicle chassis without the risk of damage and deformation.
For maximum efficiency of clearing snow on motorways, BSP should be used in combination with the front KALNIK XL plow in an echelon ploughing configuration.
A vehicle with a built-in front and side plow accomplishes a larger total snow clearing width which increases efficiency during each passage. The BSP plow is equipped with swivelling scrapers that enable transition over obstacles, while the axial tilt enables adjustment to the surface that is being cleared.
Design advantages of RASCO Plows
RASCO plows offer many highly efficient and time-saving characteristics. Among these are the unique top snow deflectors (see lead picture above), the mounting system that enables the attachment of snow ploughs on vehicles using different types of mounting plates for trucks, and the versatility of RASCO’s hydraulic drive system where snow ploughs can be powered by an installed electro-hydraulic power unit (EHAG) or hydraulics of the vehicle on which it is mounted. EHAG is a simple solution for mounting plows on vehicles without hydraulic installations, while RASCO hydraulics are a simple and reliable solution for controlling snow plows. Side plows also feature a state-of-the-art plow retraction system (see pictures).
